Methodology and assumptions
Notice starts the day after it is given. Day and week notice ends that many days later; calendar-month notice ends on the corresponding date of the later month (clamped to month end). Remaining days = total notice days − days served − approved leave offset, floored at zero. Buyout estimate = remaining days × monthly salary ÷ 30, a common convention; your contract may use basic pay or working days. In the UK, statutory minimum notice is 1 week after one month's service, then 1 week per full year up to 12 weeks; contracts can require longer. Garden leave, holidays, and employer policy can change the actual last working day.

Enter the day count for your contract's notice period above. Common UK and US notice periods convert to days as follows: 1 week = 7 days, 2 weeks = 14 days, 4 weeks = 28 days, 1 month ≈ 30 days, 6 weeks = 42 days, 2 months ≈ 60 days, and 3 months ≈ 90 days.
