This tool calculates days, not a departure date
The Notice Period Calculator calculates contractual notice days minus days already served and an approved leave offset, with a floor of zero. A 90-day clause less 37 served days and 6 approved offset days produces 47 remaining days. Use the number only after the employer has confirmed that the leave counts as an offset.
The calculator does not convert days into a calendar last-working date. Weekends, public holidays, start-date rules, garden leave, notice buyout, resignation acceptance, and local employment law can change the real outcome. Acas guidance is useful primary reading for its UK context; employment terms elsewhere can differ.
Keep the contract clause, resignation acknowledgement, and written leave approval together. If the calculation reaches zero because inputs exceed the contractual period, that is merely the tool’s floor, not confirmation that the employer has waived a notice obligation.
