Formula: Seconds = file size in bytes × 8 ÷ (bits per second × efficiency). This calculator uses decimal GB and Mbps.

Worked example:10 GB over 100 Mbps at 90% efficiency takes 888.89 seconds, or about 14 minutes 49 seconds.

Common mistake or edge case:MB/s is bytes per second while Mbps is bits per second. Ignoring the factor of eight makes the estimate eight times too short.
