Technical calculator
Bandwidth-Delay Product Calculator
Calculate the data in flight and minimum TCP window needed to fill a path at a given bandwidth and round-trip time.
Calculated result
$0.00 monthly
$0.00 annually
Methodology and assumptions
Formula: BDP in bytes = bandwidth in bits/second × round-trip time in seconds ÷ 8.
Worked example:A 1,000 Mbps path with 80 ms RTT has a 10,000,000-byte bandwidth-delay product, about 10 MB or 9.54 MiB.
Common mistake or edge case:Use round-trip time, not one-way latency, and distinguish decimal MB from binary MiB.
