AWS vs GCP egress: model the same data transfer

Compare AWS and Google Cloud egress assumptions using identical outbound gigabytes, destinations, and pricing dates.

Egress is a path, not one universal rate

Define source region, destination, monthly GB, and whether traffic stays within the provider. A hypothetical 2,000 GB internet transfer should use the same destination and billing period in both scenarios.

The calculator compares entered provider rates and makes the transfer volume visible. It does not automatically apply every free allowance, CDN, inter-region exception, tax, or negotiated discount. Check each official rate card before publishing a budget.

Does a lower egress total settle the architecture?

No. Data residency, latency, replication, failover, and application redesign can dominate a modest transfer saving. Preserve the route assumptions with the result.
