    Methodology and assumptions

Gross salary = CTC − employer-only costs. Employee PF = 12% of basic (optionally capped at the ₹15,000 monthly wage ceiling). Take-home = gross − income tax − employee PF − professional tax and other deductions. Tax uses FY 2026–27 resident individual (under 60) slabs, which Budget 2026 left unchanged: new regime with ₹75,000 standard deduction, ₹60,000 Section 87A rebate up to ₹12 lakh with marginal relief; old regime with ₹50,000 standard deduction, professional tax, your deductions, and ₹12,500 rebate up to ₹5 lakh. Surcharge (10%/15%/25%, plus 37% above ₹5 crore in the old regime) applies with marginal relief, then 4% cess. Special-rate income, perquisites, and employer NPS are excluded.

Currency outputs are rounded to the nearest minor currency unit.
